









Colin Woodham, the proprietor of Alpha Science Editors, was born in Scotland. He has a Scottish education at primary and secondary school levels and is a science graduate from Aberdeen University (BSc Pure Science, Upper Second Class Honours) with a postgraduate MSc degree from Leicester University. He has almost 20 years’ experience in freelance copy editing, language correction and proofreading in the medical and STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
He commenced freelance PC copy-editing for Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd (Shannon) in 1993, and has since edited for Elsevier Science Ltd (Oxford), Compuscript Ireland Ltd (Shannon, Ireland), Chapman & Hall (London), Alden Multimedia (Northampton), Datapage Ireland Ltd (Dublin), ICPC Ltd (Dublin), Oxford University Press (Oxford), Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins (USA), Microsoft Research (Cambridge), the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) (Grenoble, France), Sunrise Setting (Torquay, UK), BioMed Central (London), InHouse Creative (Dubai, UAE), Crimson Interactive (Mumbai, India), and Georg Thieme Verlag (Stuttgart, Germany).
He currently receives freelance work from Maney Publishing (London) and The Charlesworth Group (Huddersfield) and many authors for whom English is not their first language.
